Since my election to the Massachusetts Senate in 2002, it has been and continues to be a prestigious honor to serve the 1st Suffolk District, lying entirely within the City of Boston and including the neighborhoods of Dorchester, South Boston, Mattapan, and a portion of Hyde Park.

As your State Senator, I am devoted to providing the communities I represent with the best services possible. I am readily available to answer any questions or concerns you may have in regards to state services like Mass Health, public housing, or elderly support, as well as public services like transportation and utilities. In addition, I welcome the opportunity to attend and partake in neighborhood meetings and events. Please be assured that as your State Senator, I will continue to advocate wholeheartedly for your concerns, whether they be community, environmental, educational, or social.

Currently, I am Chairman of the Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technology and I serve on the Mental Health & Substance Abuse, Public Service, and Veterans & Federal Affairs Committees. As Chairman of the Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technology, I recently authored legislation that will create tens of thousands of jobs in the Commonwealth in the coming years. Regardless of the committee, it continues to be an utmost priority of mine to have the concerns of my constituents addressed and recognized.
